A NEWLYWED lesbian couple claim hotel staff called one of them a “f***ing d**e” and refused to serve them on their luxury honeymoon to Mexico.

Emma Louise Morris, 27, and her wife Jo, 31 said they were made to feel “worthless for being gay” during their romantic break, days after getting hitched.

Writing on Facebook Emma Louise claims the couple were on the receiving end of homophobic abuse from waiters and “ignored at every meal” on the holiday, allegedly booked through Thomas Cook.

In her post she wrote: “Me and my wife were made to feel so uncomfortable and worthless on our honeymoon just because we're a gay couple.

“We had a lovely time for the first 3 days, then they realised we're a couple.

“My wife was called a "f***ing d**e" by a waiter/barman. We were told by a barman that we can "have what we're given" when we asked for drinks. We were ignored at every meal time.”

The Mail Online reports how the couple, from Harwich, Essex, paid more then £3,000 for their trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico just two days after they said I do.

They claim they have been offered £500 in Thomas cook vouchers or £300 cash.

Education sales manager Jo was reportedly left with glass in her foot from a broken astray on the balcony she claims staff refused to clean up.

Emma Lousie added: “We didn't even hold hands in public let alone anything else so why did we get verbally abused and ignored in a luxury hotel?!

“I can't explain how upsetting it is to feel so s*** on my honeymoon.

“I felt like if I looked at my wife in the wrong way we would be subject to abuse so we spent a lot of time hid away from people, we spent every evening in our room rather than at the bar or watching entertainment.”

A Thomas Cook spokesman told the Mail Online: “We are always concerned to hear reports of this nature and are investigating the allegations that Ms Morris has made with the hotel.

"We will be contacting her again as soon as we have an update and hope to resolve this satisfactorily with her.”

Sun Online has contacted Thomas Cook for further comment.
